This page will show you how to include Seti UNIVERSE RSS Feeds on your "MY YAHOO, MY MSN, or Google Personalized Home Page."

You can have  Seti UNIVERSE RSS, Feed information directly to your personalized start page on Yahoo, MSN, or Google.

(SPECIAL  NOTE:  This is the XML Feed for the Seti UNIVERSE FORUM.

You can use the URL above, in the procedures below, to have this forum's feed included along with the Seti UNIVERSE Feed.)

    GOOGLE

1. You must have a Google Account.
   •  To Create a Google Account;  Click Here
2. After logging on to your  Google Account you must click on; Add Stuff in the right column
   • or  Click Here
3. Now click Add Feed  or  Gadget.  You will now see the box below present itself.
4.  
   • Enter the Seti UNIVERSE RSS Feed url:   http://www.setiuniverse.com/SetiUNIVERSE_1.xml  then click Add. 
5.   
   • You will see the  Seti UNIVERSE RSS Feed url highlighted in yellow.
6.  You are done!   Now click on "Back to iGoogle Home" at the top of the page on the left.
7. This will take you back to your Google Homepage.   Now in the top left column you will see your new Seti UNIVERSE Feed.

    MSN

1. Click on the MSN Button on the homepage.
2. Loggon to your MSN Account. 
   • To get an account a MSN Account;  Click Here
3. After logging on click on My MSN. (You must be in My MSN, if you are it will say so in the upper left corner of the screen in very big letters.) 
4.       You will see this box on the upper left column of the page.  Enter this RSS Feed in the box;   http://www.setiuniverse.com/SetiUNIVERSE_1.xml  then click the arrow.
5.   Put a check in the box then click "OK" at the Bottom Right Corner (not shown here) of the webpage.   NOTE:  (You might just see Seti UNIVERSE by the Box instead of Seti UNIVERSE 2 as shown here.  It will change to Seti UNIVERSE as soon as the MSN updates their data base.) 
6. That's it!  You should be done!  You should now be taken back to your My MSN homepage where you will see a box (on the bottom left of the page, at least mine is on the bottom left) containing the latest changes, additions to Seti UNIVERSE.

1. Again, you must have a Yahoo Account.
   • To Loggon  Or  Create a Yahoo Account;  Click Here
   • If you need to create a New Yahoo Account three quarters of the way down in the right column where it says "Don't have a Yahoo! ID?"  click:  Sign Up, and create your Yahoo Account!
2. After logging on to your  Yahoo Account you must fine and click on;  "My Yahoo!"
3. Then find and click on;   "Add Content"  this little button should be found in the upper left column.
   • or to get to the webpage that changes the content of your "My Yahoo" webpage try;   Clicking Here 
4.    This is the right side of the Find Content Section click where it says; "Add RSS by URL."  Enter the Seti UNIVERSE RSS Feed given below.
   • http://www.setiuniverse.com/SetiUNIVERSE_1.xml 
5. Enter the above URL in the Add RSS by URL Box and then click the ADD Button.
6. You are now taken to a webpage displaying the Seti UNIVERSE Feed along with how many days ago the change took place.  You can stop now or elect to add an alert which will notify you via email or through a mobile alert.
7. To add this option; click Add an Alert in the bottom right corner.
8. Fill out the form choosing; 
   1. how often you want to receive an alert.
   2. how you want to be alerted.
      1. Email
      2. Yahoo Messenger
      3. Mobile
      4. (you can choose all three)
   3. click  "Save Alert" at the bottom right corner
9. You will be taken to My Alerts webpage displaying your Yahoo Alerts.  (you manage your Yahoo Alerts here)
10. You can add other Alerts to your My Yahoo by clicking the "Create an Alert" tab.

How to read feeds?

If you want to browse and subscribe to feeds, you have many choices. Today, there are more than 2,000 different feed reading applications, also known as "news aggregators" (for text, mostly) or "podcatchers" (for podcasts). There are even readers that work exclusively on mobile devices.

Some require a small purchase price but are tops for ease-of-use and ship with dozens of feeds pre-loaded so you can explore the feed "universe" right away. Free readers are available as well; a search for "Feed reader" or "Feed aggregator" at popular search sites will yield many results. A handful of popular feed readers are listed at the bottom of this page.

A typical interface for a feed reader will display your feeds and the number of new (unread) entries within each of those feeds. You can also organize your feeds into categories and even clip and save your favorite entries (with certain applications).

If you prefer, you can use an online, web-based service to track and manage feeds. Online services give you the advantage of being able to access your feed updates anywhere you can find a web browser. Also, upgrades and new features are added automatically.
